I’m Trying A Drink For Better Skin | Skincare

I recently won a competition on Instagram; a 90 day supply of Skinade which I've been wanting to try forever.

Skinade is "a multi-award winning, natural peach and mangosteen flavoured anti-ageing collagen drink containing a patent pending formulation of active ingredients that aims to boost your body's natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid".

When it comes to collagen drinks, I tried one before for around 6 months and I actually realised how good it was only when I stopped taking it. The only reason I stopped was because it smelt like fish food and I have the most sensitive taste buds. Yep, I'm quite a fussy eater and hate hate hate when people tell me to try it when it comes to food.

For good skin you must obtain a good diet, exercise, 8 hours sleep, drink lots of water and ensure you maintain a good skincare routine. Let's face it, extra help is always much needed because we're not ticking those boxes every single day.

I was sent a 90 day supply of the Skinade Clear Targeted Solution which helps breakout prone skin which is definitely my skin type. I don't suffer from mild acne anymore (if you've seen my previous blog posts you'd have seen I have made many changes), however when it comes to that time of the month and eating high sugar food, I can break out like mad.

"Engineered as a collagen drink, Skinade offers a huge advantage in terms of absorption rates. Skinade functions isotonically, ensuring that our collagen peptides and essential micro-nutrients achieve an absorption rate of 90-95% - A level that can never be matched by tablets or powders."

I always take supplements as I know for a fact I never get the amount of nutrients my body needs from food alone. The great thing about Skinade is that there are lots of nutrients including in the capsules and liquid sachets. Take a look at the list here.

First Impressions?
I'm currently on day 3 and firstly the taste isn't too bad but I do think it's an acquired taste and you get used to it. The liquid sachet smells and tastes like pineapple and mango juice mixed together however the capsules do smell. Not going to lie, after you take the 2 capsules and liquid sachet, your breath does kind of stink (not in an unbearable way) so you may want to pop a mint or brush your teeth again.

I'll be trying a 90 day supply but will be providing you with 3 monthly updates on how my skin has *hopefully* changed and hope to share my before and after pictures with you.

Stay tuned...
